This budget self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner does an excellent job on low-pile carpet and hard floors. Its combination brush gets into corners and edges, and it automatically increases suction when it detects carpet. It also does a great job of cleaning dirt off mid-pile carpet. The IQ's tiny dock footprint and self-emptying feature are great features. If you wish to alter the floor levels or set zones that aren't allowed, you'll have to manually reset the map.
The IQ app offers some advanced mapping and automated functions, however it does not have no-go zones. These are available only on iRobot robots. Its intelligent-pathing navigation system provides superior maneuverability and its high-pile carpet cleaning mode cleans well, although it does have a tendency to get caught up on rug tassels. Additionally, its iHome speaker lets you control the robot with voice commands.
In our tests during our tests, the IQ was adept at handling pet hair well, clearing huge amounts of debris from floors that were not bare and fair amounts of medium-pile carpet. It was less effective on shag carpet, which was a struggle to reach dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It was able navigate the legs of a chair, tiny spaces as well as the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was slower on flooring that was not fully covered but it was able to recover speed and performed better than other robots that we evaluated.
The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most applications. It has a larger dustbin, a longer battery life and is better at navigating obstacles. It comes with mopping tools that are able to clean up sticky mess. On the other hand the iRobot is more durable and has fewer parts that require replacement or maintenance, incurs lower recurring costs and can even create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It can even resume cleaning from where it left off in case it is unable to recharge its battery prior to having completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled via voice commands, which is a big plus for many users.
Eufy 11S
The RoboVac 11S eufy robot vacuum isn't among the most features-rich models, but it provides powerful cleaning power at a low cost. The RoboVac 11S is designed for consumers with a tight budget who don't need a complex mapping system, or an app, to control it. The robot can run for a long time and comes with an remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base and extra filters.

It stops and emits a loud sound when it encounters an obstruction. You can then manually steer the device around the obstacle and return it to working.
The BoostIQ mode is another great feature of the Eufy11S. It lets you configure the robot to automatically adjust suction force based on the type of floor and the level of dirt. It's also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S to where you want it to move.
Single Room Mode is a great option for those with small furniture in the room you want to vacuum. The eufy will spend 30 minutes cleaning the space it's assigned.
